Court layout

Court planning is the be-all and end-all. Planning is half the battle. The earlier you start planning the court layout, the more easily and harmoniously it can be implemented.

Court layouts are not just the final touch; we believe they should be the start of the conversation. When we are involved early in the new sports floor process, everything shifts. The project becomes clearer, decisions gain direction, and connections between schools and users grow stronger.

You end up with a sports floor unique to your school, with the latest floor colour(s), your school logo large and proud, new sports to teach, and perhaps one important sport picked out in a second floor colour. We aim to add something special to every school sports hall with the most creative design service of the 21st century.

Planning court markings correctly

Focusing on needs

To select the right sports, it’s important to know the different uses of the sports hall. We can also discuss new sports that could broaden what is taught in the sports hall, as well as increase hire revenue. It’s good to consider new sports as well as traditional ones.

We use the recommended dimensions for every sport and, where space does not allow this, discuss how they can be reduced to fit your hall.

School logos

Few things heighten school vitality and pride like a school logo on the floor when playing sport. Students love to rally round their sports teams as they compete against rival schools. For this reason alone, one of your core focal points should be having your school logo centre stage on the new sports hall floor. Students, alumni, PE staff and other staff should feel the intensity of school pride whenever they enter the sports hall or gymnasium.

We supply you with an indicative court layout drawing featuring your school logo, to help you and the school teams visualise the design. Once it is agreed, we have a stencil made from self-adhesive masking plastic, using your logo’s .eps file to ensure accuracy. Logos are then painted on site using two-component waterborne court marking paint that has no smell and is compatible with the floor. If the logo is very complicated, such as a coat of arms, we can print an exact copy onto a special thin material and seal over it to protect it from wear. So any logo can be added to any floor in the school.

Often the logo is large, 3.0m in diameter, to fit within the basketball centre circle, but we will show you options: a logo can go anywhere, at any size.

Floors provide the perfect platform for you to develop your school’s brand.
