What we do

We deliver solutions that keep sports floors beautiful and functional year after year, throughout the life of the floor, so the surface can last longer and play better.

Court Layout

A new sports floor is a big investment, so give it the time and thought to choose well. Once you know your floor make and model, think about the colour(s) of the floor and the new court layout. We visit schools to record their existing layout, measure their basketball backboard projection, and discuss floor colours with the PE team, along with the latest sports that could be included and whether they would like their school logo featured in the new layout.

Court Marking

BIDDLE SPORT Performance is, by definition, the unique combination of accuracy, precision and creativity.

The lines. This is where skill, patience, practice and real expertise take over. Perfect games lines don’t just happen; they’re crafted. Because with a new floor, perfect lines aren’t optional. They’re the signature.

Softwall

Softwall helps to reduce the danger of players being unable to slow down in time before hitting hard walls, with over 50% impact reduction. It is both the most economical way to improve safety in existing sports halls with run-offs below the recommended minimums, and a way to give a great look to even the most accomplished sports hall design.

Creativity.
Performance.
Safety.

The education market is undergoing a green revolution, and reducing the environmental impact of the sports hall is a major challenge. Wooden sports floors should be periodically recoated and court lines remarked using waterborne materials. Vinyl, PU and linoleum sports floors can be recoated with Creativity, using new colours and designs.

Sports halls can be carefully refurbished on a limited budget to use energy better and improve sports floor Performance, rather than building new. Lengthening the service life of floors and sports halls is an effective way to reduce impact on climate change and use resources better.

Sports halls may well be undersized compared to the latest Sport England guidelines, but Safety can be improved by installing Softwall anti-shock wall panels, giving over 50% impact reduction.

frequently
asked questions

How often should a wooden sports floor be recoated?

We have found that for wooden and Granwood sports floors two years is the best interval between recoats; three years is a little long. We advise accordingly when we inspect your floor, and send email reminders in time for the next recoat.

Can my vinyl, PU or linoleum floor be renovated instead of replaced?

Yes. Our award-winning Resilient System deep cleans and abrades the floor, then applies new coloured PU coats, new court lines and a clear sports sealer. You can choose any new colour, it costs less than half the price of replacement, and there is no old floor to dispose of.

What is included in a free inspection?

We inspect sports floors of any age and in any condition, then send a written report with recommendations for short and long term maintenance, repairs and renovation, advice on line markings, and a detailed specification and quotation for any recommended works.

Can you add new sports to our court layout?

Yes. We prepare a court layout drawing in full colour and detail for you to agree before any work starts. Adding just eight lines, two per badminton court, lets your hall host pickleball, and older basketball courts can be updated to the current FIBA markings.

Will the work disrupt lessons?

We schedule work during school holidays or at weekends, so there is no disruption to lessons or lettings.
